Richardson Home Theater - The Hangout
This den in a Richardson home went from a drab TV viewing room to a warm, well lit hang out spot. The wood paneling wallpaper were removed in favor of textured walls with paint and a light glaze. New custom window coverings, new carpet and updated electronics all work together to make this room as relaxing as it is fun.

The sofa and furniture are back in their right place and look great. Having a sofa instead of media room chairs makes the theater an open and social environment.
The built in bar is now a brightly lit, enjoyable space.
New custom made curtains block all light from the rear window and acoustically help the sound in the room.

The Process
Removing trim from the wooden paneling on the wall.
Removing wood paneling from the media room.
Prying wood paneling off the wall in the back of the room.
All of the wooden paneling is being removed.
The sheetrock is now exposed where the paneling once was. In addition, the wall paper on the top part of the wall left behind glue and other residue.
The glue residue must be sprayed and scraped from the wall.
Now it is time for the popcorn ceiling to be scraped.
All of the popcorn ceiling texture is now removed and the room is ready for new texture and paint.
The wall and ceiling have now been textured and painting has now begun on the ceiling. The ceiling will be painted a darker shade to give make the wall color really pop.
The new texture is really beginning to stand out with the new paint and glaze applied.
